January Allure Beauty Box Review

Hello! A couple of months ago, I signed up to receive a monthly subscription to the Allure Beauty Box, and I thought it would be a fun idea to review the products that came in the January 2021 box. I want to be honest about these products in the box itself.

A few things to note before I start the review; first, the box retails for $23 a month but, the products in the box total up to $100-$200 products are both full and trial size. Usually, if you like at least one of the products, then you have gotten your money’s worth. You can cancel at any time and, first-time subscribers get an extra product! If you want to purchase any of the products that come in the box, they include a pamphlet of discount codes exclusively for you.

First, the Saturday Skin Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel, retailing for $28 and, can be found at Sephora. I will be honest peels freak me out. I was also a little skeptical because these blue-like beads came out and, I do not like that in a product, but they also dissolve into a gel. You apply right after a cleanser and gently rub in on your face and, then wash away with warm water. I did a test on my hands and, I was honestly surprised. My hand immediately felt soft. I also did a test on my face while it did not give me a burning sensation nor any other issues, I will probably use this as a hand or foot scrub. It is dermatologist tested without any of the following; parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrance, or color.

Repurchase: Maybe

Next, the L’Occitane Immortelle Reset Hule-En-Serum, retailing for $59, and can be found at Sephora or the L’Occitane website. This serum helps with uneven texture, wrinkles, loss of firmness. It feels super nice and sinks into the skin immediately. What turns me off about this product is the smell. It has this perfume scent to it. I believe the scent comes from the essential oil in the product. I am not the biggest fan of essential oils in my skincare. This product came as a trial size and while it felt nice when I applied it to my hand, I do not think I would use it as a staple in my routine. Full disclosure, I gave it to my mom.

Repurchase: No

ManiMe Stick on Gels, retail varies from $15 to $25. This is probably my favorite thing that came in the January box. It was a $30 voucher to ManiMe. I had never heard of the site before. To sum it up, it is a mani/Pedi website that sells stick-on gel nails as well as hand care products. I have not gotten my nails done since the pandemic back in March, so I was super excited to learn and read about this. There are so many different designs and collections and was cheaper than going to a nail salon. With the voucher, I was able to get a nail set for free! I bought myself an extra set and, then ManiMe added a top coat for the nails for free. I am so excited to try these products!

Repurchase: Yes!

True + Luscious Super Moisture Lipstick retails for $22 and, it comes in 33 different shades. Now, lipstick is probably the last beauty product I care about. So, when I saw this in the box, I was a little skeptical, but the color is beautiful, and it applies so well. It is very moisturizing and does not create this weird texture on my lips.

Repurchase: Most Likely

The Beauty Crop Blush Duo in Mauve-ulous retails for $10. It is a super cute blush duo with one side cream and the other powder. It applies well to the skin. It is pigmented but not too pigmented. What I did is apply the cream with my finger and then apply the powder with a brush. I did not use it a lot and gave me a nice finish. However, it is just a basic blush, nothing to rave home about. But if you are looking to try a new blush, then I would say to give this one a try.

Repurchase: Maybe

Finally, the Baseblue Airsponge retailing for $6. This sponge is seriously so soft. It has this velvet feel and, the shape is perfect for concealer under the eyes or any other tight space. If you are looking to try a new sponge, I do recommend it.

Repurchase: Yes

And that is it! The full list of the January Allure Beauty Box. What I like a lot about the box is that it allows you to discover new brands. I have had this box for a couple of months now and every month I find something that I love. I will say this if you feel overwhelmed with the number of products you start to collect, cancel it. It is best to try and not create unnecessary waste. What I try to do is give products that I will not use to family and friends.

Now, if you are interested in signing up click here. Let me know in the comments if you do sign up or decide to try any of the products listed above, as well as any beauty boxes you have signed up for!

Thanks for reading!
