Weekly Morning Routine

Let me start by saying that I am not a morning person. Getting out of bed in the morning is one of my biggest struggles. However, with days becoming warmer and the sun shining brighter. I find it easier to get out of bed at an earlier time and develop a routine for myself.

7:00 A.M Wakeup
I know that this is not early for some, but I work from home, and as I said, I am not a morning person.

7: 15 A.M Get dressed and stretch.
Because I work from home, my version of getting dressed is usually some loungewear. However, there are times where I like to put on some nicer clothes to help give me some extra motivation; it’s pretty rare. I also have just started doing some quick five-minute stretches in the morning. It has made a difference and helps when you are sitting for 8 hours a day.

7:30 A.M Treadmill
This a new and exceedingly rare step to my routine. When I say rare, I mean I have only done this twice. I only do this if I feel up to it. I probably should not say this is part of my routine, but I am trying!

7:45 A.M Skincare
This is either after just stretching or, on the rare occasion, a walk on the Treadmill. This is my favorite part of my morning routine. I take the time for myself and try to rush through this step. Why is washing your face so relaxing?

8:00 A.M Coffee and maybe breakfast
At the age of 22, I have developed a dependency on caffeine. I blame college and work. I also love the taste of Iced Coffee. At this point, it is a necessity and helps prevent headaches. Breakfast usually varies. Most of the time, I am not hungry and will eat later in the morning.

8:30 A.M Work
By 8:30, I am online and ready to work pretty much the rest of the day.

This is usually my standard routine Monday through Friday. With a couple of outliers here and there. For example, when my alarm goes off at 7:00, I do not get out of bed until 8:20, but it is okay to have those days. I will not lie; it is a boring routine, but I think one of the things 2020 has taught us to appreciate the boring parts of your life and be happy to do these things.

  1. Oh wow, this sounds like such a refreshing morning routine, especially since you mentioned that you’re not a morning person! I’m definitely not a morning person but I love when I wake up early. I usually roll out of bed later than 11:30 when I don’t have classes which is something I’m trying to change, hahaha!


    • It is so hard being up and moving in the morning. In college I was able to do classes at 8:00 am with no problem. How times have changed lol
