My Thoughts on Blogging

I have been blogging for a year now. Before blogging, I never had an interest in writing, nor did I have a passion for it growing up. Therefore, I would consider myself an amateur when it comes to writing; I decided to start this blog as a way to express my thoughts on specific topics and keep me busy during the pandemic. Over the past twelve months, I have learned a lot about what it means to be a blogger and the hard work it takes to keep up.

I thought blogging would be easy, and I quickly learned it was not. It is like another job, but a job I enjoy. Writing and creating a blog was probably the best idea for my introverted creative self. The fact that I get to write about things that I want with minimal pressure and people taking the time to read my content is such a great feeling.

Before blogging, I thought this part of the internet had “died out.” We are such a visually based society, and our attention span is very minimal, so who even wants to read content anymore.

Once again, I was proved wrong.

Is blogging as big as it used to be? No, but a fantastic group of writers here creates such great content. It has become such an underrated part of the internet.

Do I think blogging will ever “die out?” Also no. There will always be a need/demand for writers and bloggers. There is this misconception of “dying out.” People Facebook is done, and while it is not as popular as it used to be. Millions of people still use the platform every day. Give it a couple of years, and the hype Tik Tok has now will most likely be gone. I could see blogging becoming very popular again in the future as all social media platforms have their ebbs and flows.

Overall, this blog was a great decision of mine. I always say that I have learned a lot over the past year, but I honestly have, and I am excited for what 2022 will bring.

What are your overall thoughts on blogging? Do you see it “dying out?”

  1. Congrats on 1 year! I am almost at 1 year myself 😁 My biggest surprise was the great community on wordpress. And also, I was surprised by how much discipline it takes to stay consistent. I’m so happy I found blogging and I hope it never dies out!
